Hello,
Following a closer
look at the QGIS
project, if I may
a few comments :
– All decisions
and discussions
on the QGIS project are
available
on line and
in particular on its
mailing lists http://qgis.org/en/site/getinvolved/mailinglists.html#qgis-mailinglists
but I
understand
that we
cannot
follow
everything
.
– the integration tool
dxf /
dwg
is planned for
2.18 but is not ready
yet (probably to a 2.18.1
or
2.18.2);
and
besides
,
except
mistake on
my part, it is not
mentioned
in the
changelog.
– Regarding the doc, the project
was to
publish
a 2.x
version after 2.14 and arriving eventually
to
publish
the
doc shortly after the release of version (for 3.x).
But
given
the weak intensity of
contributions currently (
less
than
5 contributors on the last
months), I do not
even
know
if
the
features
of
the 2.18 will be integrated
before the
release of the 3.0. The concern is so not
a
decision not
to publish but a flagrant lack
of
volunteers
to
write
(
while
the
functionalities
accumulate ).
The
information
to
be
included
in
the doc are listed at
https://github.com/qgis/QGIS-Documentation/issues
.
I
would
say ” he no more
than
“.
So
if readers
take a
2.18
in
the
best
deadlines ,
do
not
hesitate
to
come
contribute ,
English
is not
a
fence insurmountable (
the
team is there to
help and we are not English-speaking
)
– QGIS 3.0 is not
really
scheduled for
February
2017;
no
real
date
yet but the goal
is an exit
no later than the
summer of 2017. But , to
my
meaning ,
this
is not
so
much a problem since
from
here there , 2.14 and 2.18 will
be maintained .
– A priori, even it already make
compatible
plugins
for other plugins to QGIS
3.x generation, before the release of QGIS 3.0,
there
will be a portability period
of
the
extensions. So come with
a
3.0
number of
plugins updated (the problem
is that
their
availability
depend also from
that
of
the designer ).
Sorry for the
long
message, I hope, brings a some enlightment to
the reader .
On my part, thank you very much for all these
details
.
